Tver MPs propose to build a casino

Some of the deputies of the Tver Legislative Assembly have been involved in the idea of building a casino. The deputies see their own gambling zone as a worthy source of replenishment of the regional wallet. The lawmakers' project is supported by a local branch of the Federal Tax Service, which complains that a Tver man in the street is leaving for Belarus to have fun in a foreign casino.

The construction of the Tver casino has been worked out by some of the deputies of the local Legislative Assembly. Yesterday, representatives of the legislative branch of government interested in the idea of officials of the regional division of the Federal Tax Service, saying that the casino built will replenish the Tver budget. The group of deputies was heard by the heads of the tax service substructures who arrived at the collegium.

Justifying the idea of building a casino, the deputies were indignant: why should the inhabitants of Tver go to a Belarusian casino? Russian money should stay here. It is advisable to move the gambling site outside of Tver. The toll highway "Moscow - Petersburg", which will be launched this summer, promises a solid stream of players. A gambling complex located nearby will attract the passing public with its peculiar architecture and illumination.

The deputies intend to formulate an official proposal to the Center in the coming days. Journalists, commenting on the news, remind readers: the casino project is headed by a member of the Legislative Assembly, who once organized a series of poker tournaments.

Similar projects, analysts remind, are considered, as a rule, by border regions, observing the outgoing tourist flow heading to nearby foreign casinos. Examples include the St. Petersburg initiative to launch a floating casino .
