US casinos open ahead of time due to Chinese New Year

In the American Thompson, the opening of the largest casino in the state of New York, Resorts World Catskills, took place earlier than planned. This move is due to the intention to lure guests who will travel during the Chinese New Year (from February 16).

The $ 900 million gambling establishment is part of the Empire Resorts resort complex, located 145 km from New York. The casino, created in the manner of Las Vegas gambling establishments, has gambling salons, over 2 thousand slot machines, a poker room, video poker, etc. The 30 km2 resort has a hotel that includes two fitness centers and two spas, as well as several restaurants and bars (two are in the casino).

In the future, the operator intends to improve the infrastructure of the resort complex, expanding its area to almost 500 km2. This territory will include an entertainment village, a golf course and two year-round water parks. The latest facilities should be operational at the beginning of 2019. The total cost of the casino establishment exceeds 1 billion North American dollars.

It is worth recalling that the owner of Resorts World Catskills, which is managed by Empire Resort, is the Genting Group, a well-known Malaysian conglomerate. A number of complexes operate under the name Resorts World in Singapore, Malaysia, England, as well as in the Philippines and the Bahamas.
