LeoVegas wants to expand its activities in the Swedish gambling market. In the near future, she intends to apply for a Swedish license for casino games and sports betting.
LeoVegas executives said they are looking forward to receiving a permit, which will increase the company's share in the Swedish market. In particular, Philip Doftwick, head of corporate finance and investor relations, emphasized that LeoVegas is one of the most popular brands for mobile and online casinos in the country. Sweden is one of the main markets for the company. In support of his words, Mr. Doftwik announced the statistics according to which in the second quarter the company earned almost a quarter of its income in Sweden. Therefore, this market is very important for LeoVegas. He also noted that the firm provides services in several regulated markets. So she has enough knowledge and tools to create a strong and stable demand. In addition, LeoVegas plans to continue to search for new markets. In the future, it is possible to apply for a Spanish license.
It should be recalled that Sweden has recently changed the laws regarding the gambling industry. The new rules, which are designed to ensure the responsibility and sustainability of gambling, will take effect from 2019. Swedish regulator Lotteriinspektionen has already started accepting applications for gaming licenses. It is noteworthy that already on the first day of the process, over 20 applications were submitted.
