The anti-alcohol campaign announced by the Tallinn authorities has stirred up the trading business of the Estonian capital - the management of the Grand Prix casino and other gambling establishments that the law will bypass remain calm.
The authorities of Tallinn, intending to ban the night sale of alcohol, have developed a bill that does not affect the interests of city casinos and hotels. The latter are allowed to continue trading in spirits around the clock. The Tallinn City Hall, commenting on the legislative innovation, explained to reporters that “there is no smell of preferences” - after all, entertainment establishments, hotels have professional security, and retail outlets are defenseless against hooligans and drunken citizens.
The bill of deputies of the City Council of Tallinn, which will start working next June, will allow the sale of alcohol, as in the Soviet years from 10 am. However, the developers of the anti-alcohol document decided not to limit the traders to the traditional 20:00, and entered the innovative "until two in the morning."
Preparing the Tallinn public for Prohibition, the City Hall was saddened the day before by the news - some citizens have been drinking alcohol since 6 in the morning. Having refreshed themselves, they begin to vandalize, scold, disrupt public order. The evil tongues of journalists commenting on the bill are confident that casino traffic will increase dramatically from next June.
Let us recall other casinos that are not threatened by the bill: CityCasino chain, Olympic hotel branches. All casinos in Tallinn, by the way, have websites.
