Blackpool announced its plans to replace the casino with the retro arcades and create a unique Arcades Club for a family venue and people after 40 years. The plan is ambitious and really trendy. Not only in fashion sphere but in movies, music and even in gaming we can observe a nostalgia trend. If Hollywood makes new from good old and earns money on public's feelings like missing their childhood and youth so casino hopes to use the trend too.
A big Arcades Club with more than 200 restyled old arcade games will come to life in Blackpool casino. The deal will have taken about one year to fit the empty casinos on Bloomfield Road. The owner decided to bring back to life the classic arcade games of people's youth. The company wants to offer not just a gaming but back to youth service. It's going to be a kind of time machine! Blackpool was the place where all these classic arcades were the everyday gaming for people who are in their 40-60-s. And after restyling they can come here again to have the same arcades!
This experience is new in this business but not new to the world business. It tried a nostalgia trend and it shows a good benefit. People pay for the opportunity to feel young again, to feel their memories in reality, to get in touch with their childhood and youth. For Blackpool it's also a great chance because they can find their top not musculing with the big arcade gaming players. Next February will show the result of the strategy of Andy Palmer. He's the owner and creator of this retro arcades idea.
