MGM Osaka's future casino won out by profitability of competitors

The Japanese press has already published a sketch of a huge entertainment complex called "Water World". The consortium's investment plan is a staggering $ 9.7 billion, and the physical properties that will be located on Yumeshima Island - Osaka Bay - will be united under the name of the "resort". It will employ 15,000 people.

The specialists who prepared the feasibility study laid the following prospects for the casino:

• the annual flow of visitors - 20.5 million people;
• domestic tourism - 14 million;
• 6.5 million are overseas.

Admission fees from Japanese commoners alone will hit 33 million yen.

"When will this splendor become reality?" - asked journalists the press secretary of the Osaka administration. “Not earlier than 2028, but not later than 2030,” the officials replied.

The MGM Resorts directory, commenting on the victory, said that it is planned to work closely with the municipality to create a unique property that matches the style of local visions.

The resort will include:

• hotels MGM_Osaka, MGM_Villas, Musubi with 2500 rooms;
• conference rooms with an area of over 37,000 square meters for 6,000 visitors;
• 330,000 square feet of showrooms;
• the Yumeshima Theater and the Innovation Laboratory.

The complex will become a showcase attracting foreign audiences to Japan.
